We will see how often I keep up with this, but I wanted to start a daily/weekly update for on Mason for myself, family and friends. It has been a month since he was born and yes, as they say it does "fly by".
Ill go back to his birth and recall from there. We went into labor at 3:30 am and at 5:54am, Mason was here. It only took 2 hours to get him out (by the way no epidural) and the journey started from there. JC, and my mom were there to help welcome him into the world and about 20 minutes later, JC's parents came to see him. We were in the hospital for 2 days, in which we helped celebrate the new year in style! Me in a hospital bed, JC in a chair/bed and Mason hanging out between the both of us. Fun Times!!
We came home on Saturday, January 1st and so our lives began with "firsts" for Mason all year! Grandma was here with a new years day meal for us and we had a nice relaxing day at home. My mom stayed with us for a week and boy was she a huge help. On Sunday, JC's family came over to visit as well as our good friends Jason, Jenn and Ethan. They are expecting Masons partner in crime, Ryan, in April. My sister came in with Evie from Key West on Thursday and she stayed for 3 weeks. My mom went back home (so far away) on Friday and thus began our time alone with our son.
Luckily, JC took 2 weeks off from work. Since I couldnt eat sushi, I didnt let JC eat it either (it was the 1 thing he had to give up). So after Mason arrived, we couldnt wait to go eat at Sushi Coast. We asked my mom to watch lil dude on Sunday and we went and had the best meal ever! It was nice to get away and enjoy "us" time. Cant wait to take Mason with us!
The first month, I will say was smooth, relaxing and I can so learn to be a stay at home mom! After JC went back to work, everything started flowing for Mason and I. We got into a routine and its been extremely fun. He is getting bigger by the day and his face has filled out. He doesnt have the newborn look anymore. We are in for an exciting time watching him grow up and it can only get better!
